At Fold, we are rebuilding personal finance and mobile banking from the ground up for India’s internet native citizens.

🛠 What you'll be working on

  • You'll build our Android app.
  • You'll own the Android app end to end, working with the design, product, backend teams, to solve the biggest problems for our customers.
  • You'll help us make the right tradeoffs, taking into consideration design and business limitations, and build a product for the long term with robust and reliable code.
  • Being the early Android engineer, over the next few years, we expect you to grow, train and manage your team.
  • You'll create experiences that shape an iconic product. We believe in hiring smart people that pride themselves in good values, their work ethics, and holding great responsibility.

💯 You'd fit in if:

  • You've built native Android apps using Kotlin. We like to be progressive with our tech stack. Having a good experience with common libraries and frameworks such as MVVM, Retrofit, Glide, Jetpack libraries, Animations, Custom view’s is a big plus.
  • You’ve built and maintained products for large consumer markets. You've published apps to the Play Store before. You understand user behaviour, love building pixel-perfect applications with animations, micro-interactions, and complex UI, and know that an application can make or break a company. You have 4+ years of experience in building Android apps.
  • You enjoy building products from scratch. Joining in at an early stage involves a lot more than just coding an app. You'll be working in often chaotic environments, and involved in product and business decisions as well.
  • You can work in teams. The android team is small right now so you will collaborate and work with the product, backend, and design teams.
  • You can work within business constraints. You understand how companies work and make the correct tradeoffs between time, speed, and features whenever required.
  • You love to give back to the community through blogging, mentoring, and contributing to open source.

⚙️ Our recruitment process

  1. Introduction: Get on an introductory call with us. We'll talk about your interests, your past experience, our vision of the future, and how you can contribute and help us achieve it.
  2. Take-home exercise: We'll send over an Android-specific task, which you'll have to complete and send back to us in 72 hours.
  3. Pair programming: If we like your submission, we'll invite you to an interview with one of our engineers (strictly no whiteboarding), with whom you'll be pair-programming on a real-world problem.

We move very fast, and we'll be mindful of your time. All of this will be done within a week, and if all goes well you'll receive a final offer within 24 hours of the pair-programming interview.
